Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to criticize the White House Correspondents’ Dinner held on Saturday evening in Washington D.C. In his post Trump asserted that the event’s headliner Colin Jost a cast member of “Saturday Night Live” “BOMBED” and that President Joe Biden was an “absolute disaster” during the event.
“The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was really bad. Colin Jost BOMBED and Crooked Joe was an absolute disaster! Doesn’t get much worse than this!” Trump wrote on his social media platform.
During the dinner Biden attempted to turn Trump’s “Sleepy Joe” nickname back on him referring to the former president as “Sleepy Don.” The president also made comments about the various political persecutions against Trump many of which have been alleged to be attempted election interference by the Biden administration to prevent a potential rematch in 2024.
Biden also tried to downplay concerns from voters about his advanced age and cognitive decline stating “The 2024 election is in full swing and yes age is an issue. I’m a grown man running against a 6-year-old. Well I feel great. I really feel great.”
The president used the event to push the left’s attacks on Trump calling him a threat to democracy and warning about “disinformation.” However, almost immediately after his “disinformation” quip Biden proceeded to take Trump’s previous statements out of context to smear him.
