The Left has often used the phrase “never let a crisis go to waste” as their mantra. And the Colorado Springs shooting last weekend is no exception.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown but facts don’t seem to matter much if the Left is working an angle for their agenda. In their latest attempt to push policy out of a tragedy, the Left has a far-reaching claim that conservatives are actually to blame for what happened last Saturday night.

Reality tv producer, Keith Edwards, tweeted “This is because of @libsoftiktok. This is because of @TuckerCarlson. When you lie about a whole group of people long enough, someone eventually takes matters into their own hands. Demonizing LGBT people doesn’t win Republicans elections, but it does get us killed.”

It seems the Left takes issue with conservatives who object to children being exposed to Drag Queen Story Hour at the local library, irreversible medical treatments for minors, and normalizing the sexualization of children.
Michelle Goldberg of the New York Times wrote in her op-ed that the Right has become fixated on all-ages drag shows and morally panicked about children being groomed. She suggested that the shooting was because Club Q, the place of the shooting, was hosting an all-ages drag brunch on the following Sunday morning.

In her full article, she goes as far as to say “the puritanical tendency on the right has come roaring back, part of an increasingly apocalyptic worldview that sees the erosion of traditional gender roles as a harbinger of national collapse”.
Yikes.
Is it so far-fetched to be against an agenda that completely erodes the traditional values and morals that conservatives hold? Are conservatives over-reacting and over-protecting our children when there are legitimate groups like the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus who made headlines (for all the wrong reasons) for singing a song called, “We’re Coming For Your Children”?
The full lyrics are here but to give you an idea, “We’ll convert your children. Happens bit by bit.
Quietly and subtly and you will barely notice it…Just like you’re worried. They’ll change their group of friends. You won’t approve of where they go at night. And you’ll be disgusted when they start learning things online that you kept far from their sight”.
Conservatives have a right to hold and value their traditional perspectives on marriage, sexuality, and what is morally right and wrong without being called a bigot. Regardless of the motive behind the Saturday shooting, one deranged person does not constitute placing blame on an entire party for disagreeing with radical ideas and agendas.
