Grenell: House GOP Must Learn From Democrats

Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell is calling on House Republicans to stop acting weak — telling them to learn from Democrats and indict President Joe Biden.

Grenell made the comments during an appearance on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” on Wednesday morning, where he discussed the evidence of Biden’s “obvious corruption” in the aftermath of Devon Archer’s testimony.

Archer, Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner, reportedly told the House Oversight Committee in his closed-door testimony that Joe Biden talked to Hunter Biden’s business associates on speakerphone more than 20 times to promote “the brand.”

While Democrats repeatedly indicted, impeached, and “canceled” former President Donald Trump for alleged crimes and offenses with negligible evidence to back up their claims, Republicans are doing little more than discuss the possibility — with many GOP lawmakers essentially claiming that it wouldn’t be right or “fair” to impeach Biden.

According to Grenell, Republicans are sitting back and waiting while Democrats are taking action and “canceling us.”

“There is obvious, obvious corruption that has been laid out. What are they waiting for?” Grenell told Newsmax host Rob Finnerty, referring to House Republicans. “They’re already canceling us, Rob. They’re already crushing us in every possible way, and we’re sitting back making moral arguments to a team of people that don’t listen to moral arguments.”

The former Trump administration official then argued that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other House Republicans need to “realize if they don’t start pushing back, none of us are going to go to work for them and try to get them reelected.”

Grenell went on to blast Special Counsel Jack Smith’s latest indictment of Trump for his legal efforts to challenge alleged fraud in the 2020 election.

“Washington, D.C., is full of hypocrites. For every single Republican who has been elected president since 2000… every single time, the Democrats have challenged the electors,” he explained. “They have gone to the floor of the House. They have said, ‘This election was stolen.’”

“They did exactly what President Trump’s team was doing in trying to look at every detail and slow the process down enough so that you had more time,” Grenell told Finnerty. “They did it, and no one was indicted when they did it. They were able to speak out and have freedom of expression on the floor of the House.”

The Newsmax host responded by pointing out the curious timing of each of Trump’s indictments, as they have all come immediately after negative reports concerning the president and his son.

“It’s not a coincidence. It’s a strategy,” Grenell argued. “It’s exactly what they like to do because they get away with it. And I’m telling you, I live outside of Washington, D.C., and the base of the Republican Party, not just Trump supporters, but Republicans, traditional Republicans, are so sick and tired of working to elect Republicans that do nothing. They get to Washington, and they don’t do exactly what the Democrats do in terms of weaponizing their power.”

“We’re [Republicans] sitting back taking the high road and creating moral arguments for the Democrats,” he continued. “The Democrats are not listening to moral arguments. That doesn’t work with them. Stop making moral arguments and start using your power.”
