Trump Administration Orders Fired USAID Workers To Clear Out In 15 Minutes

Government employees who have spent years living off taxpayer dollars are being forced to move fast as the Trump administration clears out the bloated bureaucracy. USAID workers given pink slips are now scrambling to collect their belongings in just 15 minutes before being permanently locked out of the Ronald Reagan Building.

A directive posted online left no room for negotiation. Employees affected by the agency’s downsizing will only be allowed access on February 27 and 28, with strict time slots assigned for retrieval. “Staff should arrive at the start of their time window, but no sooner, as early entry will not be granted,” the directive stated.

Security will be stationed throughout the building to monitor the process. Each worker must pass through screening before being escorted to their desk. “Staff will be given approximately 15 minutes to complete this retrieval,” USAID warned. Those who fail to gather their items in time will not be given an extension.

Adding to the swift removal, employees are required to bring their own packing materials. “Staff MUST bring their own boxes, bags, tape, and/or other containers,” the announcement emphasized. Items left behind will be stored offsite by the General Services Administration, but USAID made no promises regarding their safekeeping.

The layoffs follow the administration’s decision to cut 1,600 USAID jobs while placing 4,200 additional employees on administrative leave. The agency, criticized for its involvement in questionable foreign aid spending, is being forced to downsize under Trump’s directive to eliminate government waste.

With Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency leading the charge, the message is clear — the federal workforce is not a permanent safety net. It’s time they find jobs outside of the taxpayer-funded safety net.
