Mass Executions Of Christians In Syria As Islamist Regime Expands Control

Christian and Alawite communities in Syria are being wiped out under the new Islamist regime, with more than 1,800 people executed in just the past few days. Reports from inside the country reveal that villages have been raided, churches set on fire and families rounded up and slaughtered.

The violence escalated after Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia in December, following the collapse of his government. By late January, Ahmed al-Sharaa, backed by Al Qaeda-linked militants, was installed as the country’s leader. Since then, systematic attacks on religious minorities have increased, with survivors recounting horrifying scenes of destruction.

Eyewitnesses say armed fighters are going door to door, executing Christian families and looting their homes. In Latakia, one of the last remaining strongholds for Christians, priests have been killed and entire communities erased. Those who have managed to escape are now hiding in remote areas, with little hope of outside help.

International leaders have done little to address the killings. The United Nations released a brief statement condemning violence against civilians but failed to mention the deliberate targeting of Christians. Meanwhile, Western media has avoided drawing attention to the religious nature of these massacres, focusing instead on political developments.

Despite its military strength and proximity, Israel has not taken action to aid Syrian Christians. Though Israeli officials have issued warnings about Islamist rule in Syria, they have offered no military support or humanitarian aid to those fleeing persecution.

With no outside intervention, Christian leaders continue to plead for help. Thousands have already been killed, and the death toll is rising as Islamist forces tighten their grip on the country.
