Seattle’s ‘Belltown Hellcat’ Faces $83k In Fines For Disruptive Driving

Seattle’s city officials have fined Instagram influencer Miles Oliver Hudson $83,200 for disturbing the peace with his loud, modified Dodge Charger. The 20-year-old, who has gained significant social media fame, posts videos of his car racing through the city at high speeds and creating excessive noise, much to the frustration of local residents. Known as the “Belltown Hellcat” on Reddit, Hudson has been cited numerous times for the noise generated by his vehicle’s altered exhaust system.

City Attorney Ann Davison has taken a firm stance against Hudson, declaring in a statement, “Mr. Hudson has cultivated online infamy by flagrantly breaking Seattle’s laws and waking his neighbors with excessive noise.” She has urged the court to hold Hudson accountable, stating, “It’s time for him to face the consequences of his actions.” Davison’s office has asked the court to impose all relevant penalties on Hudson.

Residents of Belltown, where Hudson’s disturbances are most felt, have voiced their complaints to the police and online. Chris Allen, who lives on the 17th floor, told KING-TV, “I would hear my windows rattle. It sounded like very loud backfiring.” Despite Hudson’s mother claiming he no longer had access to the car, he continued his disruptive behavior. Hudson, who faces a daily fine of $1,300, has pleaded not guilty and is due to appear in court on June 12.
