Seattle police shut down a planned Antifa riot on Election Night, making several arrests and dispersing protesters before significant violence could unfold. The demonstration took place near the former Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, where Antifa has staged disruptive events in the past. Police acted quickly to prevent criminal activities, citing property damage and defiance of police orders.
The protest began around 6 p.m. as Antifa members gathered at Cal Anderson Park, dressed in black bloc uniforms and riot gear. The group had earlier vandalized parts of the park with graffiti, including pro-Palestinian messages and anarchist symbols. As the march moved forward, Seattle police deployed officers on bikes and cars, closely monitoring and intercepting the protestors’ activities.

Throughout the night, Seattle police issued loudspeaker warnings reminding the group to stay lawful. When protesters blocked streets and refused to comply, officers intervened to make targeted arrests. Seattle PD emphasized that while they respect peaceful protests, any unlawful behavior would not be tolerated.
At least five individuals were arrested on charges ranging from property damage to obstruction. When officers moved in, some protesters shouted aggressive threats, raising tensions but ultimately dispersing as their numbers dwindled.
