PAC Funded By Soros Aims For Big Gains In Key Texas Races

A political action committee heavily funded by George Soros has significantly increased its spending in Texas, hoping to help Democrats make gains in the upcoming election. Texas Majority PAC has spent over $5 million since July, focusing its resources on majority-Hispanic regions and Democratic strongholds.

Much of the group’s spending is aimed at helping Senate candidate Colin Allred, who is working to close the gap with incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. Recent polls show Cruz leading by just 3.6 points, and Texas Majority PAC is betting on increased voter turnout in counties like Hidalgo and Cameron to boost Allred’s chances.

The PAC also invested heavily in Dallas County, which delivered a net gain of nearly 300,000 votes for Democrats during the 2020 presidential election. The group’s spending is focused on voter registration and outreach efforts, including canvassing and phone banking, to ensure a strong Democratic turnout on Election Day.

Republicans, including Cruz, have voiced concerns about the influence of outside money in the state. “Groups like this are pouring in millions from out-of-state donors to try and change the direction of Texas,” said a Cruz campaign spokesperson. “We need Texans to come out in full force to defend our conservative values.”

With the stakes high in both the Senate and House races, Texas Majority PAC’s aggressive spending strategy is expected to play a pivotal role in determining the outcome in November.
