The radical leftist organization known as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is facing backlash on Twitter for a post defending a convicted pedophile and murderer who was recently executed in Florida.
Referring to the male pedophile with female pronouns, the ACLU claimed in a tweet: “The state of Florida never provided medically necessary gender-affirming care to Duane Owen — causing her enormous suffering and violating her right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment for the more than 30 years she was in state custody.”

The 62-year-old pedophile and murderer had been on death row for roughly 38 years and was able to avoid execution during that time through numerous legal appeals.
Owen, whose lawyers attempted to get him taken off of death row by claiming he was insane and a delusional schizophrenic, tried to get transferred to a women’s prison by claiming he was transgender. The state did not give in to those demands — as expert psychiatrists testified that he had shown no signs of either schizophrenia or gender dysphoria, writing in the report that they believed it was an “act.”
The pedophile had been sentenced to death for attacking four different women — one of which was a 14-year-old girl that he stabbed to death, another was a 38-year-old that he beat to death with a hammer. The remaining two women both survived.

The sister of the 14-year-old victim has said that she was glad Owen was executed, noting that she was unable to forgive him and she didn’t “think there’s anything that I could say or he could say that would make a difference.”
The ACLU was blasted on Twitter for defending Owen.
“If HE had been executed in a timely manner, it wouldn’t have been a problem,” wrote actor James Woods. “Then the loved ones of HIS murdered victims wouldn’t have been the ones who actually suffered for thirty years.”

“The only injustice in Owen’s case is that it took the state 40 years to execute him,” replied conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey.

The popular Twitter account “Gays Against Groomers” condemned the ACLU for being more concerned about a pedophile and murderer than they are about his victims, noting that the only thing the far-left organization cares about was that Owen “was never given ‘gender-affirming care’ in prison before he was executed.”
