Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose is urging election boards to increase their vigilance after discovering fraudulent voter registration forms in Clark County. The investigation began after the board of elections reported an illegal registration form written in Haitian Creole. Clark County, home to Springfield, Ohio, has seen a surge of 30,000 Haitian migrants in recent months, making this case particularly concerning.
LaRose’s office traced the fraudulent form to Black Fork Strategies, a progressive canvassing group involved in voter registration efforts. Black Fork has been under scrutiny in multiple counties for submitting fraudulent forms, with the Ohio Secretary of State’s office referring many of these cases for prosecution.
With the November election nearing, LaRose is warning election boards to verify all registration forms carefully, especially those submitted by third-party groups. Ohio’s Election Integrity Unit is conducting further investigations to ensure only legal votes are cast.
Ohio has been aggressive in cleaning up voter rolls, using data from the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration. LaRose emphasized that the state is working hard to prevent non-citizens from voting and ensuring the integrity of the election process.
