Trump had planned to visit North Carolina, another state hit hard by the storm, but said communication issues and access restrictions forced him to delay his trip. He noted that it was important for local emergency management teams to focus on helping the most vulnerable without the added burden of organizing a presidential visit. “We want to make sure that Local Emergency Management is able to focus on helping the people most affected,” Trump explained.

While focusing on his relief efforts in Georgia, Trump expressed frustration over reports that the Biden administration and North Carolina’s Democratic governor were not providing adequate assistance to Republican-leaning areas. “I don’t like the reports that I’m getting about the Federal Government, and the Democrat Governor of the State, going out of their way to not help people in Republican areas,” Trump wrote.
