Trump Hosts 275 Linemen At His Resort To Help With Hurricane Milton Recovery

President Donald Trump welcomed 275 Florida Power & Light linemen to his Miami golf resort as they prepared for Hurricane Milton, which is expected to cause severe damage when it hits the Florida Gulf Coast. Eric Trump, in a post on X, expressed gratitude for the workers, saying, “You are amazing, and the Trump family, and the entire state of Florida, appreciates you!”

Hurricane Milton, initially classified as a Category 5 storm, has been downgraded to Category 3. Despite the downgrade, the storm is expected to cause major flooding and infrastructure damage, prompting mandatory evacuation orders for nearly 6 million Florida residents. The linemen will be part of the recovery efforts, aiming to restore power and repair damage as soon as the storm passes.

Trump’s Doral resort provided accommodations for the linemen, showcasing the former president’s support for those working to keep the state running. The resort boasts over 600 rooms, including two presidential suites, and normally charges upwards of $300 per night.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced that more than 50,000 linemen from across the country are ready to assist, making this the largest staging of utility workers in U.S. history. As soon as conditions allow, power restoration will begin, according to DeSantis.

In addition to helping linemen, Trump launched a GoFundMe for victims of Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of the Southeast. The fundraiser has already raised over $7 million, with donations going directly to those most impacted.
