In a heartbreaking incident late Friday night, a four-year-old girl and her mother were fatally shot while driving on a Florida highway. When authorities responded to the emergency call, they discovered both victims with gunshot wounds in Broward County.
The child was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while her mother, identified as Beatrice Saintvil, was rushed to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. As of Saturday morning, police were actively searching for the perpetrator, according to Local 10.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers were alerted to the shooting near mile marker 49, close to Hollywood Boulevard, just before midnight. The Florida Turnpike was temporarily closed early Saturday morning as investigators examined the scene and a tow truck removed the vehicle, which had multiple bullet holes on the front and back passenger sides.
“Sadly, the girl was pronounced deceased on scene,” stated FHP Lt. Indiana Miranda. “At the request of our department, Broward Sheriff’s Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating this fatal shooting.”
