Poll Shows Georgia Slipping Away From Kamala Harris As Trump Gains Support

A recent CBS/YouGov poll indicates that Georgia may be slipping out of reach for Kamala Harris as President Donald Trump holds a narrow lead in the state. The poll, which surveyed 1,441 registered voters, shows Trump with a 51% to 49% edge over Harris. Although the margin is slim, this is part of a broader trend showing Trump consistently leading in Georgia by one to four points.

The poll highlights significant differences in voter preferences, particularly along gender lines. Trump leads among men by 13 points, while Harris has a seven-point lead among women. The strength of Trump’s support among male voters has been a recurring challenge for the Harris-Walz campaign.

Economic concerns also weigh heavily in Trump’s favor. Sixty-five percent of respondents believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, and 79% say their incomes are not keeping pace with inflation. Furthermore, nearly half of the voters think they would be better off financially with Trump as president.

The poll also touched on other critical issues. While 59% support legal abortion in most cases, voters remain evenly split on Georgia’s six-week abortion ban. Additionally, 71% believe Harris would pass a national law making abortion legal, but only 34% think Trump would ban abortion nationwide.

With voters preferring Trump’s economic policies and showing dissatisfaction with the current state of the country, Harris faces an uphill battle in Georgia. If these trends hold, the state may be out of reach for the Democratic ticket.
