Jasmine Crockett Gets Warning From AG Over Tesla Protest Remarks

Attorney General Pam Bondi has taken aim at Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) for her support of upcoming protests against Elon Musk’s Tesla empire. Bondi warned that Crockett’s birthday rally remarks, which included the phrase “taken down,” suggested a dangerous call to action against Musk.

Crockett responded by insisting her support was for a peaceful protest movement known as Tesla Takedown. She stated that the group promotes lawful assembly and condemns violence, adding that her critics are mischaracterizing her words to discredit the cause.

The congresswoman made her original comments at a virtual rally for Tesla Takedown, a campaign that claims Musk is using his corporate power and government position to suppress dissent. The protests are scheduled for March 29, with actions planned across the U.S. and internationally.

Bondi alleged that Crockett’s rhetoric was a threat to Musk’s safety and urged caution from elected leaders when speaking about public figures. She said that Musk would be protected and described Tesla Takedown as part of a broader movement seeking to damage Musk’s business and reputation.

Crockett is part of the DOGE Oversight Committee and has previously criticized Musk’s influence over the Department of Government Efficiency. She said she was speaking out against the concentration of power and the use of public resources for political gain.

The Trump administration has signaled it may take action against demonstrators if protests become violent, citing recent attacks on Tesla properties as justification for labeling them acts of terrorism.
