Iran Says US Could Become Target After Interfering With Israel Attacks

Iran issued a dire warning to the White House, saying that if the United States thwarts the Iranian efforts to attack Israel, America could become a target for terrorists.

On April 8, the long-time ally of Hamas warned government officials in the States that “it would consider the United States a viable target” along with Israel if America tried to intervene with Iran’s planned attack on the Jewish nation, according to The Intercept.

The determination to attack was sparked by a recent airstrike issued by Israel on the Iranian embassy, killing three Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps leaders and four senior advisors to Syrian forces. Although American officials have stood by their initial stance that the United States was not involved in the deadly strikes, notable concern for threats against American forces remains.

Additionally, the United States is keeping a watchful eye on Iran as it expects an attack to be launched against Israel, potentially “in the coming days,” according to American intelligence sources. In response, the Biden administration has expressed its commitment to Israel, saying it will do everything possible to protect its long-time ally in the Middle East.

However, Iran’s warning against the United States could become a real threat as the Western nation continues to defend Israel. The warning was issued while General Erik Kurilla of the United States Central Command met with Yoav Gallant, Israel’s minister of defense, to discuss how to proceed with the imminent Iranian attack.

As Secretary of State Antony Blinken doubled down on the White House’s determination to “stand with Israel against any threats by Iran or its proxies,” Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian reportedly shared that his country will attack Israel in a less brazen approach than some expect.

Even so, the United States said on April 11 that its citizens and government employees in Israel should not travel beyond big cities, as those are the most protected areas to be in should a drone or missile strike commence.

Amid American deliberation about how to respond to the threats posed against Israel, officials in Qatar and Kuwait have said that United States forces in their countries are not permitted to attack Iran, posing a significant restriction on American forces trying to thwart Iranian attacks in the region.
