Deep State Figures Skip Trump’s Inauguration Events In Show Of Bitterness

As President Donald Trump prepares to begin his second term, key Deep State figures are making no effort to hide their frustration. Former Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton will attend Trump’s swearing-in ceremony but are deliberately avoiding the traditional inaugural luncheon. This event, held since 1897, is meant to symbolize unity among leaders, yet these political elites are choosing personal resentment over tradition.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is refusing to attend the inauguration entirely. Though recovering from hip surgery, Pelosi has been present at other major political events, suggesting her absence is a political statement. Pelosi has a long history of hostility toward Trump, leading both impeachment efforts and tearing up his State of the Union speech in 2020.

Former first lady Michelle Obama is also skipping the inauguration. Despite former President Barack Obama confirming his attendance, Michelle Obama has opted out. Her absence comes after she skipped former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, further highlighting her unwillingness to engage in bipartisan traditions.

Bush, Obama and Clinton’s decision to avoid the luncheon contrasts with their attendance at Trump’s first inauguration in 2017. Back then, they honored the peaceful transfer of power. Now, their absence reflects how deeply personal their opposition to Trump has become.

The inaugural luncheon, hosted by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, has historically brought together presidents and lawmakers to celebrate American democracy. Their refusal to attend this event breaks from that long-standing tradition.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will also skip the luncheon, despite attending Trump’s first inauguration after her 2016 election loss.
