Cellphone Records From Nathan Wade Raise Questions About Testimony

Last week’s testimony from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade about when their romantic relationship began appears to have been disproven, according to Wade’s cellphone records.

Both Willis and Wade testified under oath that their romantic relationship began in the Spring of 2022 and lasted until the Summer of 2023, months after Wade was hired on Nov. 1, 2021.

Attorneys for former President Donald Trump submitted a legal filing on Friday that included data collected from Wade’s phone through private investigator Charles Mittelstadt, who managed to obtain AT&T cellphone records for Wade via a subpoena.

Mittelstadt reported using CellHawk, an online tool that “is considered by law enforcement to be the gold standard in cellphone records analytics.”

The affidavit states that Willis and Wade called each other over 2,000 times during the first 11 months of 2021 and sent around 10,000 text messages.

According to the phone records, The data shows that Wade made “at least 35 visits to the Hapeville neighborhood where Fani Willis was living before the district attorney hired him to lead” the investigation.

Willis disputed the evidence on Friday, stating that the records were submitted in violation of court rules and “do not prove anything relevant,” according to AJC Politics.

“The records do nothing more than demonstrate that Special Prosecutor Wade’s telephone was located somewhere within a densely populated multiple-mile radius where various residences, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and other businesses are located,” Willis’ motion claimed.

On Sept. 11, 2021, Wade’s phone arrived close to Willis’ Hapeville address at 10:45 p.m. and stayed there until 3:28 a.m., bringing into question Willis’ doubts.

Former DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James stated that Wade’s cellphone records raise many questions.

“People could look at this and be suspicious,” James said. “But in the court of law, you need proof. The real question is whether there was proof there was a romantic relationship at that time and I don’t think this proves there was. It just proves a relationship, which they’ve already acknowledged.”

The cellphone records coincide with testimony from Willis’ former friend Robin Bryant-Yeartie, who stated under oath on Feb. 15 that she witnessed Willis and Wade “hugging” and “kissing” on several occasions back in 2019.

Willis also denied those allegations
