Brett Favre has joined a growing chorus of critics targeting Allstate CEO Tom Wilson for his remarks during the Sugar Bowl broadcast. Wilson’s message, aired after a deadly attack in New Orleans, emphasized the need to overcome divisiveness.
Wilson began his comments with condolences to the victims of the attack, in which 14 people were killed. He then urged Americans to work together to “amplify the positive” and “accept people’s imperfections and differences.”

Favre responded sharply on X, criticizing the omission of the National Anthem during the broadcast. “I heard: There was no televised National Anthem for Sugar Bowl yesterday. Instead a DEI message by @Allstate CEO. Woke is a joke,” Favre posted.

The remarks fueled a wave of online backlash, with many accusing Wilson of politicizing the event. Some called for boycotts, while others demanded Wilson’s resignation from Allstate.

In response, Allstate issued a statement condemning the terrorist attack and clarifying Wilson’s comments. The company said the remarks were intended to reflect a commitment to building trust in communities.
