Biden-Harris Administration Under Fire For Prioritizing Foreign Aid Over Hurricane-Hit Americans

The Biden-Harris administration has come under fire after a video surfaced showing USAID administrator Samantha Power emphasizing US efforts to restore power in Ukraine. Meanwhile, thousands of Americans are still without electricity in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, leading many to question the administration’s priorities.

In the video, Power proudly stands in front of a damaged transformer in Ukraine, explaining how the US is helping to restore power to hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. “Thanks to the support of the American people, USAID is working with Ukrainians to keep the lights on and the heat going this winter,” Power stated.

However, with over 700,000 homes in the southeastern US still without power, many Americans found Power’s message out of touch. Social media users were quick to voice their frustration, including one who posted, “I am watching this video in a house without power… while thousands of Americans are currently still sitting in the dark.”

The criticism wasn’t limited to the public. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell voiced his concerns, noting that “Americans still don’t have power from Helene. Some Americans have lost everything.” Grenell called Power’s actions “tone-deaf,” pointing out that while the administration continues to spend billions on Ukraine, Americans are struggling to recover from the devastation caused by the hurricane.

FEMA whistleblowers have reportedly told Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that the government’s response to the hurricane has been slow. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has also admitted that FEMA’s budget may not be sufficient to handle relief efforts through the end of the hurricane season.
