Left-Wing News Outlet Says You Should Stop Eating To Save Money

A left-wing outlet is facing backlash for suggesting that Americans can combat President Joe Biden’s skyrocketing inflation by cutting out meals.

On February 15, the Wall Street Journal published a report that told the American people to fight their economic woes by eating only two meals per day.

The outlet went on to detail the shocking price increases for commonly consumed foods in America and concluded that breakfast — supposedly the most important meal of the day — is most impacted by inflation.

Due to the skyrocketing prices of breakfast foods — such as eggs, cereal, fruit, and coffee — breakfast is the perfect meal to cut out, the report argued.

“Egg prices increased 8.5% in January from a month earlier and are up 70.1% over the past year, the highest annual rate since 1973,” the Wall Street Journal explained.

“The deadliest avian-influenza outbreak on record has devastated poultry flocks across the U.S., leading the price of eggs to rise more than any other grocery item in 2022, according to Information Resources Inc,” the outlet added. “U.S. egg inventories were 29% lower in the final week of December 2022 than at the beginning of 2022, according to the USDA.”

Conveniently ignoring the Biden administration’s role in skyrocketing prices, the Wall Street Journal pushed the common Democrat narrative that much of the blame for record-high inflation is due to “continued effects from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”

Meanwhile, Biden continues to claim that the economy is just fine — despite mounting evidence to the contrary.

Citing gas prices, inflation, and wages, the president recently claimed that “the Biden economic plan is working.”

On Wednesday, Biden also falsely claimed that the latest inflation report was good and argued that prices are down.

Cecilia Rouse, a top economic adviser for the president, has also tried to downplay the problem — claiming that “yes, the price of eggs increased, but at a slower rate.”

Critics blasted the Wall Street Journal for their ridiculous suggestion while also slamming the president for his role in causing the problem.

“Skipping meals to make ends meet? This is how badly Biden’s economy is beating down average Americans,” tweeted Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA).

“Biden’s America: Can’t afford groceries? Just don’t eat,” said Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC).
