Washington DC’s New Anti-Parent Law Has Been Blocked

For quite some time now, there’s been troubling anti-parent sentiment brewing within the Democratic Party.

There was a time when Democrats tried to hide this. Yet, over the past year, the facade has dropped. Now, leftists aren’t hesitating to let parents know just how little respect they have for mothers and fathers.

Earlier this year, the Michigan Democratic Party came under fire after it stated parents were not the clients of public schools, but rather “the community” was the true client.

Michigan Democrats tried to walk back those comments after being raked over the coals for them.

Then, there’s the issue of children being forced to wear face masks in schools or learn about critical race theory. Across the nation, Democrats have fought for forced masking and critical race theory indoctrination, even when parents express their discomfort with both.

Back in 2020, Washington DC passed a measure that allowed children between the ages of 11 and 17 to consent to vaccines without parental approval. Although, according to Life Site News, this legislative slap in the face to parents has been blocked by a DC federal court.

Breaking Down the Minor Consent for Vaccination Act (MCA)

Prior to federal court intervention, Washington DC passed the Minor Consent to Vaccination Act, thus letting kids agree to take vaccines, despite the wishes of their parents.

After legal action against the city from the Informed Consent Action Network, Judge Trevor McFadden ruled that DC overstepped its bounds with MCA.

Judge McFadden specifically cited this law as a force that invites parents to be unknowingly deceived by their kids. The DC federal judge then pointed out that without parental involvement in the vaccination of their children, the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act is undermined.

Finally, Judge McFadden stated that in the worst case scenarios, children vaccinated under MCA who suffer adverse reactions from the shots may try to hide these reactions from their parents. This, too, opens an entirely new can of worms, with the potential to end in death for the children involved.

Keeping Parents in the Loop

The left-wing view that “the community” is responsible for children, rather than children’s parents, is a dangerous and inaccurate one. Yet, this what’s being spread by Democratic leaders and lawmakers across the country.

Now, more than ever, it is vital for parents to remain in the loop and know what is happening with their children. The Minor Consent to Vaccination Act is only a fraction of how far Democrats will go. If not for pushback from parents and conservatives, this Soviet-style law would be commonplace wherever Democratic leadership can be found.
