USAID Name Removed As Funding Freeze Ends Its Global Influence

The words “U.S. Agency for International Development” have been stripped from its Washington headquarters, signaling a major shift as President Donald Trump’s administration dismantles the agency. The move follows an audit revealing how billions of taxpayer dollars were funneled into leftist causes, foreign propaganda, and radical social programs.

Ukraine’s media was one of the largest beneficiaries of USAID funds. Reports show that nine out of ten media outlets in the country relied on international funding, with USAID serving as their primary donor. Following the funding freeze, these organizations are now left searching for alternative financial backers, raising concerns over who may step in to control Ukraine’s media.

Financial records also show USAID directing millions into leftist activism abroad. Grants were issued to support LGBT lobbying in Serbia and a transgender opera in Colombia. Additionally, taxpayer money was allocated to a Sesame Street program in Iraq, gender-focused media training in Sri Lanka, and a transgender comic book in Peru.

Black Lives Matter received significant funding through USAID-backed grants. A Soros-linked nonprofit, Tides Center, was awarded $24.7 million, with more than $12.6 million later funneled to BLM-affiliated groups. These funds flowed during the 2020 protests, which led to widespread property destruction across the U.S.

USAID’s actions have also raised concerns in the European Parliament. A German lawmaker has called for an investigation into whether the agency was involved in election influence across multiple EU nations. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has vowed to disclose all U.S. funding to foreign-backed organizations operating in his country.

Reports further link USAID to President Donald Trump’s first impeachment. A CIA whistleblower who played a key role in launching the impeachment relied on information from media outlets that received USAID funding. With the agency’s name removed from its headquarters, USAID’s influence appears to be fading as the administration follows through on plans to shut it down.
