Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who initially ran for the Democratic nomination but has since switched to an independent bid, is now targeting Vice President Kamala Harris. He claims that Harris and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) have been hiding President Joe Biden’s health issues from the public. This follows Biden’s recent decision to step down from his re-election campaign.
In a recent speech, RFK Jr. asserted, “A little over a year ago when I entered this race, I predicted that President Biden suffered from a degenerative condition that was not going to improve and that it would make it impossible for him to govern effectively.” He accused the DNC of using their control over the nomination process to ensure that no one could expose Biden’s health problems.
Kennedy didn’t stop there. He took aim at Harris’s foreign policy stance, calling her a “war hawk.” He said, “Kamala Harris is a war hawk on Ukraine, she’s a war hawk on China. I think that we should be figuring out how to coexist with the rest of the world as best we can.”
Kennedy also criticized Harris’s approach to domestic issues. “She’s not going to do anything about the national deficit. I’ve never heard her speak about the chronic disease epidemic,” he said. “I think she’s a product of the corporate control of our democracy.” Furthermore, he added that her civil rights record is one of the worst among public officials.
Dave Rubin, host of “The Rubin Report,” also weighed in, suggesting that RFK Jr. would have been a better Democratic candidate than Harris. “Just imagine if the Democrat Party had gone in that direction instead of the direction that they are in right now,” Rubin said. He urged Democrats who are unhappy with their current choices to consider RFK Jr. as a viable alternative.
As Harris prepares to step into the spotlight, these criticisms from Kennedy and others indicate that she will have to work hard to gain the full support of her party and the electorate.
