NYT Reporter Harshly Criticizes Pro-Parent Moms For Liberty

There is no better proof that Moms for Liberty is rapidly gaining momentum than the recent hit piece featured in the New York Times. Reporter Jonathan Weisman, known for targeting conservatives, unloaded on the rapidly expanding grassroots organization.

His article, titled “Moms for Liberty’s School Board Antagonism Draws GOP Heavyweights,” quickly got to the point.

Weisman referenced the misrepresented and discredited accusation that the group quoted Hitler in a newsletter.

The quote’s origin is disputed, and it stated, “He alone, who OWNS the youth, GAINS the future.” As much as the Times and its leftist allies would dispute this, that’s exactly what woke radicals are attempting to do by controlling education.

Weisman hardly stopped there, taking Moms for Liberty to task for such horrific positions as opposing critical race theory indoctrination and gender identity politics.

The only accolade he could spare for the movement was its rapid ascension in conservative politics and growing power among 2024 GOP presidential candidates. This was clearly demonstrated last month in the group’s “Joyful Warriors” national summit in Philadelphia.

The lineup of Republican candidates for the White House presenting their cases to the organization was impressive.

They included former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

The former president told Moms for Liberty that there is “no earthly force more powerful than the love of a mother for her children.” He commended the group for teaching radical Marxists and communists “a lesson they will never forget.”

And in a sure sign of the times, Trump reminded the gathering that they are not a threat to America. Rather, in the words of the Republican 2024 frontrunner, “you’re the best thing that has ever happened to America.”

Trump referenced the recent controversial declaration from the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center. The leftist group deemed Moms for Liberty an “extremist” and “anti-government” movement over its firm stand on the side of parental rights.

This put the concerned parents on the same platform as the Ku Klux Klan and other truly radical outfits.

Considering the source of the accusation, however, Moms for Liberty must wear this charge as a badge of honor. The left is appalled when Americans, and especially women, stand up to radical gender indoctrination in the nation’s schools.
