NYC Mayor Blasts White House And GOP For ‘Irresponsibility’ On Immigration

Amid the crisis of illegal immigration that has continued to plague New York City and various other parts of the country, New York City Mayor Eric Adams drew attention after he went after the White House and Republican Party alike on Tuesday, criticizing both for not doing enough to solve or improve the crisis at the southern border.

“It is not about the asylum-seekers and migrants. All of us came from somewhere to pursue the American dream,” Adams proclaimed at a press conference about public transit Tuesday. “It is the irresponsibility of the Republican Party in Washington for refusing to do real immigration reform, and it’s the irresponsibility of the White House for not addressing this problem.”

A YouTube posting of Adams’ remarks invited several reactions that appeared to disparage Adams, with comments seen such as “Mayor Adams announces free Kevlar vests for everyone !!” and “Places where criminals can do their thang.”

In just the law few months, tens of thousands of aliens have been driven over from Republican-run states to blue cities such as New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., reported The Hill.

Among the most prominent red states to bus migrants over to these cities was Texas, where Gov. Greg Abbott reportedly shipped thousands of migrants to New York City.

A the time, a video leak from Project Veritas allegedly showed an Adams aide saying that the Texas governor’s strategies have proven to be effective and that the Big Apple is hurting as a result.

This influx of migrants led to Adams pulling the race card against Abbott, accusing him of intentionally targeting New York due to the skin color of its residents and representatives.

“This weekend, we learned that Governor Abbott is once again deciding to play politics with people’s lives by resuming the busing of asylum seekers to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, and Washington, D.C.,” he wrote in a press release.

“Not only is this behavior morally bankrupt and devoid of any concern for the well-being of asylum seekers, but it is also impossible to ignore the fact that Abbott is now targeting five cities run by Black mayors.”

He added, “Put plainly, Abbott is using this crisis to hurt Black-run cities.”

The New York City mayor appears to be quite concerned over the migration crisis. During a discussion panel held just last month, Adams said the “city is being destroyed by the migrant crisis” and also complained about the conduct of the federal government, lamenting its refusal to address the situation.
