Actress and alleged comedian Kathy Griffin tweeted a threatening post aimed at Republicans, warning that to avoid a civil war, voters should vote or Democrats:
“If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican,” she threatened.

Obviously, Griffin making what seem like threats was not taken lightly by most Republicans.
Notable right-wing figures made their thoughts known on Twitter as well.
“This is WRONG. Crazy Hollywood Leftie threatening ‘Civil War’ if Dems don’t win. Sadly, this is today’s Left: angry, hateful & violent,” Texas senator Ted Cruz tweeted in response.
Christian author Jeremy Kappell said, “The inherent message here couldn’t be more clear. If you don’t vote Democrat, there will be war. King George III had a similar message for the colonists just prior to our Independence. Don’t be bullied by Hollywood Propagandists.”
Many users also pointed out the hypocrisy of the comedian not being banned or censored despite her threatening tweets.
Tensions are high as the midterm election draws near, and disunity between the two parties is growing. Issues such as election integrity, President Joe Biden’s disturbing comments towards Republicans, abortion laws and the border crisis are dividing the nation.
Obviously, if a conservative said anything like this on any of the larger social media platforms, they would likely have their account banned. But, yet again, the targeting of conservatives’ free speech is on full display with Griffin’s continued ability to threaten conservatives on Twitter.
