The mother of Hunter Biden’s estranged daughter asked an Arkansas court last week to have her daughter’s last name officially changed to Biden.
According to the Post Millennial, Lunden Alexis Roberts is a former “exotic dancer,” she became pregnant with Hunter Biden’s child as a result of meeting him at the Mpire Club, a club she danced at and he frequented.
DNA testing in 2020 confirmed Biden’s paternity, and he was required to hand $2.5 million over to Roberts.
Roberts’ lawyer filed the name change petition in response to Hunter Biden’s September 2022 motion to have child support responsibilities reduced due to “financial circumstances,” the Washington Examiner reports.
Biden’s request to reduce child support was disputed by the four-year-old girl’s mother.
Roberts’ attorney Clinton Lancaster argued in court that Joe Biden’s granddaughter, currently named Navy Joan Roberts, could “benefit from carrying the Biden family name.”
Lancaster explained:
“To the extent, this is misconduct or neglect, it can be rectified by changing her last name to Biden so that she may undeniably be known to the world as the child of the defendant and member of the prestigious Biden family.”
The filing goes on to state that Hunter Biden is “attempting to stifle discovery into his financial affairs while simultaneously reducing his child support obligation on the claim that he now earns less income.”
According to the New York Post, Roberts was also on payroll at Hunter’s consulting firm while pregnant with their daughter according to text messages reviewed last year.
Roberts said she wants her daughter to carry the “powerful” Biden name, and all of the advantages it allows.
In 2020, the Daily Mail noted that Roberts was the only Biden grandchild not invited to President-elect Joe Biden’s election celebration.
