Hunter Biden recently underwent a deposition to provide insights into his financial situation regarding the child support case involving his four-year-old daughter, Navy Joan Roberts.
Biden initiated the case, contending that he could no longer sustain the agreed-upon $20,000 monthly child support payment that was established in 2020. Among his claims were instances where he purportedly had to sleep on a cot in his father’s hotel room during a trip to Ireland and the repossession of his car.
Biden’s legal representatives assert that he is unemployed and lacks any regular monthly income, despite his residence in a mansion situated in the Los Angeles region.
Lunden Roberts’ legal representatives have accused Biden of delaying tactics and failure to provide complete financial information, resulting in an obstruction to determine his true financial status.
They have taken the step of requesting that he be held in contempt for his failure to comply with court orders regarding information disclosure. The court is scheduled to address this matter on July 10, where potential consequences could include imprisonment, although unlikely, or being obligated to cover $20,000 in legal fees.
In a court filing, Robert’s lawyer wrote, “Mr. Biden does not want to disclose his income and assets, says that he is somewhat financially destitute, while he lives on a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, has Secret Service protection and enjoys his time abroad (which he has also lied about in discovery).”
The judge also expressed dissatisfaction with the information provided by the Biden team, indicating that she believed the redaction process was being somewhat misused. Consequently, she instructed the first son’s legal team to resubmit certain financial documents.
On Friday, Hunter Biden underwent questioning under oath in Little Rock, Arkansas. His arrival on a private plane, estimated to range between $55,000 and $117,000, did not present him in a particularly destitute light, which may not work in his favor.

Roberts’ discovery request encompasses a wide range of information, spanning from Hunter’s business engagements in Ukraine and China to the identities of individuals purchasing his artwork, which allegedly commands prices as high as $500,000.
In Biden’s attempt to reduce his child support payments, he may have inadvertently exposed himself to the possibility of more damaging information being revealed.
