DeSantis Condemns Biden, Says President Doesn’t Care About Rule of Law

During an appearance on Fox News’ “Ingraham Angle” on Friday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) blasted President Joe Biden’s divisive primetime speech — arguing that the president has “violated his oath of office.”

Responding to Biden invoking the rule of law during his Thursday night speech, the Florida governor stated that Biden does not care about the rule of law at all given his refusal to enforce the law regarding illegal immigration.

“Well, look, he talks about rule of law. What has he done?” DeSantis asked. “He’s violated his oath of office to take care that the laws are faithfully executed by opening the border. He’s not following the law there.”

DeSantis also cited Biden’s unilateral decision to cancel student loan debt, bypassing Congress, as another example of the president ignoring the rule of law.

“Look what he did with the student loan bailout. Congress never authorized that,” he said. “He’s citing a law from September 11 to somehow give loan forgiveness and put it on the backs of the taxpayer for people with degrees in gender studies. So, spare me this idea of the rule of law. He doesn’t give a darn about the rule of law.”

DeSantis went on to discuss the president’s attack on “MAGA Republicans” and his attempt to differentiate between those who support Trump — who he claimed are a threat to “democracy” — and so-called ‘true Republicans.’ According to the Florida governor, the only Republicans that Biden likes are the ones who support Democrat policies.

“And yes, the only Republicans he likes are Republicans that want him to get his way,” DeSantis stated. “If you stand up against his bad policies, like we do in Florida, then, of course, he’s going to try to write you out over who’s acceptable as an American citizen.”

The Florida governor shared a video of a different Fox News appearance on Twitter, calling Biden’s speech a “truly despicable spectacle.”
