Carlson: Politicians Intend to Disarm America

Tucker Carlson wrote an opinion piece published by Fox News on Tuesday pointing out the unanswered questions lingering from last week’s tragedy in Uvalde. The shooter in that incident was an 18-year-old part-time Wendy’s employee who somehow was able to afford more than $4,000 worth of brand-new weapons, ammunition, and body armor.

One of the rifles the gunman purchased was at least three times more expensive than a functionally equivalent one, which Carson pointed out as being unusual. He observed that police have not only addressed that question, they have been untruthful about some of the basic facts.

Carlson observed that while many people are calling for “militarizing America’s elementary schools,” no one can say why the paramilitary force stationed outside the Uvalde school refused to go inside to stop the killing. No person in a position of authority appears prepared to hold themselves accountable for any part of the failure that occurred at the school. Carlson noted that it appears that “some seem determined to make future school shootings more likely.”

Carlson observed that “amassing more power is the point.” As a real-time example, he cited the announcement this week by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that he was using the Texas shooting to his political advantage.

Trudeau has introduced legislation that would “freeze” Canadian handgun ownership. He proposes to prevent any new buying, selling, or transferring of any handguns, even though handguns were not involved in the Uvalde tragedy at all. Rather, Trudeau seems to be motivated to simply disarm his political opponents.

Joe Biden fanned the flames of D.C. propaganda this week when he said that “9mm bullets blow the lungs out of the body” and described the round as a “high-caliber weapon,” whatever that is supposed to mean. He said the round has “simply no rational basis” in self-protection or hunting. He also trotted out the familiar line that the Second Amendment is “not absolute,” which of course means that it means nothing to the progressive leftists in charge of his administration.

Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-NY) said in Congress this week that no one will stop the Democrats from enacting gun control. He said, “If the filibuster obstructs us, we will abolish it. If the Supreme Court objects, we will expand. We will not rest until we’ve taken weapons of war out of our communities.”

Tucker Carlson also noted that politicians like Justin Trudeau and run-of-the-mill American Democrats of course have no intention of disarming themselves. Trudeau will continue to be closely guarded by armed security personnel around the clock, as will many of the Democrats in the U.S. calling for the disarming of the general population.
