The White House display celebrating the LGBT community on Saturday has drawn criticism for its perceived disrespect towards the American flag, leading to scrutiny of the Biden administration.
The White House event showcased a display of flags on the South Lawn, which included a Pride flag positioned alongside two American flags.
Among the collection of images captured during the event, one particular photo reveals the presence of what appears to be the “Progress Pride Flag” placed alongside the American flags, while the President and First Lady can be seen among the attendees.
Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) took to social media on Sunday to express his strong disapproval of the display, describing it as a “disgrace” in his post.
Marshall said, “Not only is it in breach of the US Flag Code, but it’s a glaring example of this White Houses’ incompetence and insistence on putting their social agenda ahead of patriotism.”
Another image, shared by the White House, captures the Pride flag positioned between the two American flags, while an American flag is also visible on the roof of the White House, situated above the controversial display.

The event faced swift criticism from social media users, with one individual remarking, “Imagine if you gave our veterans this much attention. Wouldn’t that be awesome.”
Another user suggested dedicating a whole month to our veterans.
Meanwhile, the President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton, expressed his perspective on the flag display, tweeting, “To advance revolutionary transgender agenda targeting children, Biden violates the basic tenet of US Flag Code and disrespects every American service member buried under its colors.”
The American Legion website outlines the proper position and manner of display for the flag, saying, “The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.”
In response to Marshall’s post, a Biden supporter argued, “This is a disgraceful lie: The U.S. flag always flies above the White House and therefore is flying above these decorative flags.”
Another user argued, “Not at all; it is still a violation. The bottom set of flags is considered a separate display.”
According to Breitbart News, the president’s choice to showcase the “Progress Pride” flag underscores the Democrat Party’s effort to mobilize younger progressive voters for the upcoming 2024 elections amid concerns over his economy of declining wages, rising rents, and expanding civic chaos.”
